Consumer Talking Points on Proposed Medicaid Cuts
By supporting competitive bidding for HME you would be sending the following message to people with disabilities who rely on Medicaid:
- I believe that all you need and deserve is the cheapest products available on the market.
- I believe that cost reduction is more important than providing the services necessary for you to lead a healthy life
- I believe that consumers have no right to choose who will provide their Home Medical Equipment (HME).
I want to believe that this is not how you feel, but if you were to vote in support of any legislation establishing or expanding competitive
bidding in any way, I will have no choice but to make that assumption.
