Dear Legislator's Name:

I am writing to express my concern about the proposed Medicaid Budget cuts for custom wheelchairs and other medical equipment. I am (state your reason for concern, for instance you are a user of such equipment or a caregiver to a user of such equipment). I am writing to ask you to not support further reductions in Medicaid funding for this vitally necessary medical equipment. Further cuts in reimbursement will make this medically necessary equipment unavailable to Medicaid recipients. Such an event will likely force Medicaid beneficiaries needing the equipment to choose between immobility and living in nursing homes or other institutional settings. This is not fair to people with disabilities.

The equipment in question is used to get around the house, to get to jobs and/or school and for other basic functions of every day living. Proper medical equipment allows for a better, more comfortable and pain free life for those who require it.

Please do not support any further reductions in Medicaid- Please!

Respectfully,
Your name
